As those of you who are regulars here at FBH might have noticed, coffee and beer are among my two favorite pleasures in life. Behold then, a sight that made my Grinchy heart grow by two sizes that day:
Ladies and gentlemen, possibly the world's northernmost coffee hut: Aarigaa Java in Barrow.

For another view of Aarigaa from a blog that also frequents coffee shops, check this out:

I wonder if the cup sleeves are little fur ruffs...
Be interesting to find out what they charge for a 16oz mocha: $8-10?
I remember when the old Hot Licks was pretty much the only game in the Interior with a real expresso machine. Now you can't throw a rock without hitting one. Which is a good thing, some days more than others.
Maybe we'll evolve as a community to have the same options with breweries.
Yeah, imagine: drive through beer.
That would be awesome.
Re: Drive through beer. I've seen such a thing in Michigan. I don't know how well it worked out for them, but it looked like it attracted all the wrong sort of people...
Oh, TY, I know it would be an utter disaster. Utter. Phenomenally bad idea.
But still... a girl can daydream can't she? Drive through in the morning on the way to work, drive back again for an ice cold beer on the way home from work. Ahhhhh.
Drivethrough boozers are on most street corners down here :) I'll have to put up a picture of one for y'all someday. Beer, wine, spirits, whatever.
Hi,
I can't seem to find any other way to contact you. Would it be okay if I uploaded this photo to tundratelegraph.com ? With your name of course. You can also go to the site and upload any photos, videos, writing you want as well.
I really like this one. You can email be back at editor(at)tundratelegraph.com
Thanks!
Jennifer
I think Texas has drive-through liquor stores.
I don't miss having to plug my car in any more....
